Punthuk setumbu is the name of the hill with a height of 40 meters above sea level that is located about 5 kilometers in the west of Borobudur temple. The hill that is located in Karangrejo village is one of the good spots to see the greatness of Borobudur Temple in the morning and see the beautiful sunrise.
If you are lucky, you can see the sunrise appear and shine between Merapi and Merbabu Mountain. Why lucky? Because it depends on the weather. If the weather is cloudy, you can not see the sunrise but if the weather is sunny you can see the sunrise between Merapi and Merbabu Mountain with Borobudur Temple as a landscape.
Day 6 (18 May - Thu): Yogyakarta - Borobudur - Dieng
- Check out and start Borobudur Tour at 2.30am (breakfast in box)
- Arrive Putuk Setumbu Hill (sunrise view point) at 4am
- Borobudur Sunrise from Putuk Setumbu Hill at 5am then drive to Borobudur around 20 minutes
- Enjoy Borobudur Temple until 11am then driving 3 hours to Dieng Plateau area
- Check in Dieng homestay at Puspa Indah or Dahlia Homestay or similar
